By using our website, attending events, or interacting with Empathy in Tech, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About Us

Empathy in Tech is a fiscally sponsored project of Superbloom Design, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All activities fall under Superbloom’s oversight.

Our Pledge

We pledge to make participation in our community harassment-free for everyone, regardless of age, ability, race, gender, background, or identity. We strive to create a welcoming and respectful environment.

Expected Behavior

  • Be kind, inclusive, and respectful
  • Listen and respond with empathy
  • Offer and accept constructive feedback
  • Accept responsibility and apologize for mistakes
  • Focus on the well-being of the overall community

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination
  • Inappropriate or sexualized language or imagery
  • Personal attacks or trolling
  • Publishing others’ private information without consent

Scope

This Code applies to all community spaces, online or offline, and to anyone representing Empathy in Tech in public.

Enforcement

Report issues to hello@empathyintech.com. Community leaders will:

  • Review and investigate reports promptly and fairly
  • Respect the privacy of reporters
  • Enforce consequences that may include:
    • Private or public warnings
    • Temporary or permanent bans from the community

Based on the Contributor Covenant v2.0 and Mozilla’s guidelines.

3. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, all site content is the intellectual property of Empathy in Tech or its contributors. You may not reuse or republish materials without permission.

4. Donations & Digital Products

Donations are processed through Every.org and are non-refundable. Digital products (such as e-books, workbooks, or online courses) are delivered electronically and are not eligible for refunds unless otherwise specified.

5. Event Participation

By registering for an event, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to remove individuals who do not comply.

6. Privacy

Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

Our content and services are provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from their use. By using our services, you agree to take personal responsibility for how you interpret and apply the information we provide.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Your continued use of our site indicates acceptance of the latest terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
